The theme of IEEE NetSoft 2023 was “Boosting Future Networks through Advanced Softwarization”. This conference showcased the latest research and development results from academia and industry in the area of AI/ML, SDN/NFV, edge/fog networking, management and orchestration, network slicing, energy efficiency, cloud-native deployments, security among others promising research areas in the context of Future Internet with the final aim of enabling an open softwarized network environment featured by full automation and autonomicity, native network slicing, and AI-based and dynamic control, management and orchestration.

TeraFlow was NetSoft 2023 Hackfest patron; the 2nd TFS Hackfest organised by ETSI's Centre for Testing and Interoperability and the TeraFlowSDN community was held there on 20-21 June 2023.  The event took the form of a competition with several challenges. Participants were grouped in teams and each team collaborated to complete the list of challenges

Participation in the TeraFlowSDN Hackfest was free and open to all  upon registration.

Besides of the Hackfest, TeraFlow organized the workshop “DataSlice 2023: From Data Plane Programmability to Slicing Automation for Softwarized Infrastructures towards 6G”.

This workshop aimed to bring consolidation around slicing and discussed advances and challenges related to slicing in softwarized infrastructures towards 6G for faster and improved deployment of services in 5G and beyond environments.

The workshop took place on Monday, 19th June 2023 at 09:00-13:30 CEST. The agenda was the following:

  • On Wednesday 21st June at 12:00 CEST, Aurora Ramos from Atos gave Keynote #3 – AI-Based Smart Network Management across the Compute Continuum
  • On Thursday 22nd June at 15:00 CEST Ricard Vilalta from CTTC participated in the Distinguished Expert Panel. This year the panel focused on the topic “Network Softwarization in the Era of Complexity,” and the discussion continued on two interesting subtopics: “Industrialization of Network Softwarization” and “Network Softwarization: Pervasiveness and Intelligence.” Champions from industry and academia presented their views and introduced the challenges, stimulating the participation of the other panelists as well as the audience. Other panelists were:
